Why I support Jacobi
Dominik
I was going through Jacobi's newspaper and found this little gem that I had forgotten Jacobi ever wrote. I thought I would return the favour almost exactly 2 years later. Reading these old articles rekindled a lot of memories. Now, I might just be an out of touch old piece of crap sitting in a rocking chair sucking in liquidised meatloaf through a tube and staring at my vintage 1958 Kelly Mahoney swimsuit poster, but I can still, ummm... write... stuff.
Anyway, my point: Jacobi and my party, the DAL, have had a well-known little feud. I had nothing to do with creating this feud as I was in semi-retirement at the time. In fact, I had always been proud that Jacobi- this eCanadian titan- had started his political career in my tiny modest party. I had built the RFP/DAL during the baby-boom and we were enormously effective at integrating these new players into society. Jacobi was the embodiment of that success, even if he did leave the party later to run as a CPP candidate. He represents a generation that has produced some of the finest nation-builders this country has ever seen. And Jacobi is at their forefront.
OK, that wasn't the point. What was the point? OK, let's look at the title. Why do I support Jacobi? And why do I support Jacobi over the other candidates? First of all, the utter attractiveness of his Minister of Information was enough to sway me. In addition, Jacobi displays a remarkable ability to adapt to and create change despite being in office for 29 terms (help him win his round 30th!). He is no revolutionary, don't get me wrong, but he is no conservative, desperately clutching onto an established order, relentlessly opposing change either.
This is what makes Jacobi an attractive choice. He is a brilliant politician, trustworthy gatekeeper, pragmatic visionary and a leader that constantly makes us proud. Addy Lawrence's vision is a Canada without public institutions. Where Jacobi wants to ensure we create a government that encourages trustworthiness, Addy wants to dismantle all he can and not deal with corruption. Where Jacobi wants to encourage accountability, Addy wants to eliminate it and turn a blind eye to corruption.
In short, you are being offered two competing visions: one is a Canada under Jacobi that stands up to criminals and ensures corruption is minimised and accountability maximised. The other is a Canada under Addy Lawrence that concedes to the criminals by dismantling our institutions on their behalf.
Change is a good thing. And believe it or not, a president going into his 8th term is the one best positioned to bring it about. On the 5th, I encourage you to cast your vote, once again, for Jacobi.

Circle jerk is now complete. You're a stand up guy.
Jacobi will win hands down.
^Duh, Winning!
Duh, Winning! x2
I can atest to the fact that Jacobi is great at his job by experience. He's a nice person to work with and wether it is as Speaker or Prime Minister he always takes his job seriously and respects others.
Not quite correct, I believe in the spirit of the institutions, I don't believe in funding them and pretending they aren't patronage machines.
Call a spade a dirty shovel and move the noob programs to the parties and the large businesses. It's in their best interests to do these well and it is more probable to be successful and promote activity.
Duh, winning! x3
"Circle jerk is now complete."
On the contrary. We're just getting started, my friend. Wanna join?
yes

First Rylde cuts me out of drinking and poker and now I've been left off of the circle jerk invite list?

*Waits for Addy to finish behind IronToader*
Has money been stolen on Jacobi's watch? To my knowledge, no. So that is a big plus right there.
MOO!!!
A vote for Addy is a vote for fiscal responsibility!
No one carez.
Fiscal responsibility is for crackpot neo-cons.

Idk who this Mr. Mesmer fellow is but i like him!
Reebok and headbands are go! "Let's get fiscal - You'n'me Dom:
"I'm saying all the things that I know you'll like
Making good conversation
I gotta handle you just right
You know what I mean"
I think Plugson is a living pop-culture repository.
Addy reminds me of Stephen Harper.
Ça serait bien d'avoir la version française du texte, puisqu'on vit dans un pays bilingue?
Err, I don't speak French? Why would my paper be in a language I don't speak? I'm not the government.
