Revenue Canada Compromised
Ministry of Education Canada
Over the last few weeks the Government of eCanada has suffered a number of blows from individuals masquerading a servants of the public, all the while harbouring intentions to disgrace the highest offices of our eNation by stealing directly from our community and the joint resources we allocate towards advancing our society: eCanada.
Our community has shown its strength by uniting against the selfish acts of those who perpetrated these thefts and through the current interim government and Congress we have quickly restored stability and had planned to resume transfers of funding for military spending to ensure that our citizens were able to not only protect eCanada’s interest, but to ensure that citizens have the necessary funding to advance themselves in the game.
Last night, following the success of a motion before Congress to print CAD to be transferred to the Canadian Armed Forces(CAF) and The Crimson Order(TCO), Minister of Finance Etemenanki attempted to log into the Revenue Canada org to initiate the transfer to the CAF and TCO. However, Etemenanki found that he was unable to log into the org, which came as a surprise to the Minister as he had only just reset the password and e-mail address for the org. What troubled Etemenanki most, was that the transfer that had just been authorised was not showing up in the org.’s account.
Minister Etemenanki immediately sent a PM to Country President (CP) Aeriala pointing out the issue and inquiring if the passwords had been changed by him. Aeriala confirmed that he was also unable to log into the org and that the password reset option didn’t seem to be working.
Aeriala made contact with the Admin via IRC and also via a ticket to regain access to the org. The ticket has been responded to by the Admin and Aeriala has been advised that access to the org will be reestablished, however additional research will be taken by the admin as to the missing CAD. While it is still too early to determine whether the Revenue Canada org was hacked and the funds stolen; there is currently no evidence that the funds authorised in the transfer even materialised in the Revenue Canada accounts, and as such this issue may have simply been related to bug in the game that locked down the org.
The Government will continue to work with the Admin to restore access to the Revenue Canada org and recover the missing funds.

Hail Canada
Hail EDEN
Awwww COME ON!
mmmmmmmmmm
This game is going down the drain really quickly. Two years ago people took it seriously enough not to steal large amounts of money from the government's coffin.
This is amazing...
Just freakin amazing...
Unfortunately this is all the info I have at this time, without donation lists I can't tell if it was an actual theft/hack or a transfer glitch. Waiting on admins to answer that question.
It really sucks for the prez to have to cope up with that, on this one, I strongly believe that it's not something he had any power over.
Compromised.
Can someone "popular" get elected and not FU?
eCanadian taxpayers are masochists.
Corrected, thanks Crisfire.
Why are we paying taxes if the government is just going to lose it to mismanagement?
Keep the money in treasury.
Pass motions in congress to move money directly to the org who will spend it (CAF, TCO, Ministry of ).
Once the funds leave treasury, they are essentially "gone" so who cares where it goes? When the ministry needs more funds, they return to congress asking for more. If they were a good steward with the funds, they get more, if they weren't, they don't.
Yes, I'm sure it's a transfer glitch AND the password plus recovery email got changed. With luck, the 60K CAD is only "lost" and will be returned in 6 months.
This is why we can't have nice things...
Impeach?
I can appreciate the 6 months comment but the org as been promised to be returned in under a day. I have been putting as much pressure as I can to get this resolved quickly but the admins can only work so fast too.
I think Addy has suggested his recommendation every single time we have had a theft or a "mishap". Its time to listen to him. Id rather have funds frozen due to a bogus peace proposal then having them stolen or misplaced.
lol this...oh my god. This is... grrrr rawr
Candyman, candyman...quit taking my lollipops and caramel-coated taxes. This is Kazuo's fault for invoking the name 5 times.
Listen to Addy to keep a tighter lid on the cookie jar against those sweet-tooths out there.
That is all nice, but when you are invaded say good bye, because of this:
1) We are attacked by UK
2) CAF requests in Congress for money
3) Congress talks for 2 days, or maybe not at all
4) The vote finally starts if Congress can agree in Forums (Congress has shown to take forever like with the UK Peace Deal for 2000 gold)
5) 24 hours later if at least 24 people think CAF should get the money they get money
Repeat, everytime someone needs to have 5 cents...
Not to mention a lockup of the whole treasury could happen anytime in any of these steps...
Not to mention the fact that every country in the world could start an MPP vote with us, holding so much money in there, then you have currency inflation control, among many other problems that holding the money in the treasury would cause. This is what Addy does take the good of possible scenarios and leave out the bad, there is a reason that no country does this...
I think the treasury will work fine Wes, people always put too much emphasis on "what if we get attacked". It isn't that bad, we can afford to lose a region over it -> in fact we don't even lose a production bonus at our borders if we lose them (Either to UK or France).
Furthermore you can have a small fund for the CAF fighters, in fact you can even offer to reimburse them the next day if the fighting gets intense.
In the worst case scenario i would rather lose one battle once in a blue moon then lose the treasury every month because mass amounts are in an org.
The actual reason we needed to do this is a shortfall in gold income to the treasury. Our CaD income meets demands but our gold income doesn't. Unless a way is implemented to do MM transactions directly from the treasury the money needs to be swapped out so it can be exchanged to gold. This is the only current flaw with keeping money in the treasury.
If that was able to happen Aeriala the government's money would be in even more danger...
Perhaps also it would do us credit to look at all the game mechanics involved and develop some safeguard procedures.
Game is going down. Lets all apply CP and steal everything just like Wes and Rolo did.

*facepalm*
Oh shit.
Déjà vu.
just another typical day in eCanada - imagine if you lived in a boring country where nothing ever happened?
I'm still holding my breath for the monies to mysteriously appear in my account.
Rocko G there is the door you know what to do;
As for Lavis, you aren't going to be able to protect it at all, just a fact of the game, just start wearing good luck charms would be my suggestion...
We got robbed agian? Seriously people?
We got robbed agian? Seriously people?
ah this is like a weekly thing. Cant blame the prez tho
This is awesome...can't blame the prez though? 😁
Well who can you blame?
By their own admission, only they had the passwords, so which one is it?
Hack?...did Aeriala give his account info to anyone???
or has someone been sharing passwords?
Either way Etemenanki/Aeriala = Tag team of incompetence
It could be worse:
CP: I Resign (after making an unsecured 500 Gold donation to someone using a fake IRC nick
talk about facepalm on that one...but he had his reasons.
poo
caca
You know shit is bad when Mike Litoris Original does not say "Groovy"
The real issue with keeping money in the treasury is that a foreign nation can propose peace and lock up all the money in the treasury thus making it unreachable until a motion to transfer it is raised.
How do I know this? Because it happened to me...repeatedly LOL
Well there goes my rather nice day.
...
*blank stare... blink...*
...
What the hell did you people do? Back in My day, a thiefing government member was a huge deal which resulted in weeks of controversy, not a routine occurrence. Fix that shit.
En francais, svp.
We need to beef up security around the vaults. The old guy with the slipper just isn't cutting it anymore. 😕
fuck.
