What do you want?
Thore Thoreson
With the recent entrance of Belgium into ENTENTE, the re-beginning of training wars and a gradual equilibrium of the economy, we now have few things to debate. So I would like to ask a very serious question for all those that are NOT in the government but ARE Belgian citizens (in other words, no trolls allowed):
What do you want from our country?
How can we make e-life better?
Where should we go from here?
What ideas do you have?
As always, please vote and sub!
Comments
Please let your voice be heard, every contribution could make a difference 😉

Ask not what your country can do for you... 😛
(voted)
Guys Thore said for people in on the forum to respond. LOL
And the comments reveal what we already know, only people in government or on the forums already read the news 😛
I used all the orgs that I had to vote you up so now you are in the top votes list. I hope people will see it and comment!
Please! If you are a 2-clicker, we want to hear from you! Don't be shy, we don't bite (hard).
I want more media activity. Or just an overall more active community other than the regulars on the forums. Yeah, and I have no idea where to go from here other than continue the work you already do. Go team Belgium! \o/
I was never very good at those tests of logic, are you saying that all those in the government are trolls?
"...a very serious question for all those that are NOT in the government but ARE Belgian citizens (in other words, no trolls allowed)"
higher minimum wages ... vote for it ! We , the new belgian citizens will move when things don't chagce.
I want ... WAFFLES
@Rain
I lol'd
Sometimes I think there are some trolls in the government, but no, that is not what I meant... I want comments from people we don't normally hear from.
higher minimum wages indeed 🙂 people are moving
"I want more media activity"
lol
"higher minimum wages indeed 🙂 people are moving "
moving or dying?
Voted, and I am an eBelgian citizen who is neither in the government nor the forum, but I do read the news.
What do I want? I would like less cutting at each other and name-calling and more honest open debate in the media. I would like to see fewer negative comments and more positive suggestions for change (or staying the same, if that is what is desired). If change is wanted, I want proposals for what kind and how it is to be implemented. I want rational discourse! Any takers?
P.S. Waffles would be nice, too! 😃
expecting irrational people to act rationally is irrational
Although I agree with your statement as it stands, Rod, if it is intended to imply that eBelgians are irrational as a group, that is the very sort of negativity that I was concerned about in my list of "wants".
"I would like less cutting at each other and name-calling and more honest open debate in the media. I would like to see fewer negative comments and more positive suggestions for change (or staying the same, if that is what is desired)."
I know that people are trying, we had a very good month last month, then all of a sudden a few people suddenly started posting the same old crap again (regarding foreigners) and it all came crashing down. I am greatly saddened by that.
"If change is wanted, I want proposals for what kind and how it is to be implemented. I want rational discourse! Any takers?"
This is what I want to know. What change (if any) the regular Citizens of our great nation want? Or is everyone happy with the way things are going now?
I would like to have some free gifts ... my wellness is still very low ... and some battles would be good too ... but to make it easy to fulfill: just please donate me 100 gold and never mind the first two suggestions 🙂

It seems that eBelgium is a tight-knit community. It isn't easy breaking the barrier of being new, so you see little other than the introductory "Ello!" from new players before they slide into obscurity. Community events?
Being a new player, I have little precedent to work off of. It seems that eBelgium is a probable utopia: employment is at 71%, domestic security is secured, and products are readily, fairly available on the (black)market. Things could continue as they are: uneventful.
eBelgium resides between the volatile statuses of war and peace. Besides integrating new users into the community, there's little else to do: the people aren't particularly roused to anger to declare war on another country (disregarding feasibility of an actual war) so the common Belgian is in hedonistic limbo. The machinations of the state and its subdivisions are left to the elite.
Very interesting remarks, Swiss, I do hope you will continue breaking the barrier and that we will hear more of you 😉
You're right about the fact that there is little to do in eBelgium lately (up to a point that the media are quasi dead and a week old articles are revived through comments 😛 ), but partly this is because of outside issues - the ongoing exams in real life, elections in RL Belgium, World Championship football/soccer, maybe even holidays for some - the number of active players in eRepublik dropped over the last two weeks with 50,000 (1/8 of the total number!). This is also visible in Congress discussions on the national forum, which are calmer than usually, and politics is more or less our main source of "fun" in eBelgium...
I also think that most young eBelgians don't have the time or the interest to participate in our social life - it's even not that easy to lure two-clickers out of their anonymity with free stuff, not to mention about keeping them interested on day to day basis. It seems little can be done to change that, but we shouldn't lose hope, ofcourse 😉
As to the elite, unlike in many other countries it's not that difficult to get in Congress or get a position in governement in eBelgium, and activity and enthusiasm are pretty much the main requirements to become part of the eBelgian "elite" 😉
