[jargon|en] Vote What You Know
Kazuo Leblanc
In the elections to Parliament, I encourage you to not vote. Do you really know who you're voting for?
No. You don't.
You don't know who you're voting for because you probably don't know what you're voting for. While we do many things well in eCanada, one thing that we tragically don't do well is educating our youth.
One of the signs of a true leader is when that leader prepares for people to follow. People get old, get all ragequit, get drama thrown at them, get all RL, get the wanderlust; things happen. Then they leave. So when everyone leaves, who will take their place in eCanada? Certainly not me. I have no idea what's going on here. I'd like to know, but Parliament updates are few and far between, and most of Parliament takes place in Closed Door Congress. Are you prepared to step in and become a MP? Didn't think so.
As a middle power, we don't exactly have a lot of people to work with. It is in our best interest, then, to make sure that each and every eCanadian is ready to advance politically, among other things, to prepare for anything that might happen. We have plenty of structures in place to make this happen, such as the mentor program and the University of eCanada, and we value them so much that our MPs, who make up the vast majority of candidates for re-election, have let them fall by the wayside. Thanks for making education a priority in eCanada.
So, when you're an informed citizen, vote your conscience. But until then, vote for what you know. On Election Day, two-click and sit out the election. It's all our leaders expect from us anyways, right?

Actually, we'd like you to be involved and better informed. Join the eCan forum and the party forums - see what is happening in your government.
NO NO VOTE BLINDLY UNINFORMED DECISIONS
As a new player I have to say you are right on. Yes, I have joined both the ecan forum and my party forum. That is not enough.
The ecan forum has minimum information for anyone who is only a citizen. Worse than that, tell me where a new player will be able to get the address of that forum!
The good news is TFD who has posted a newspaper article today that contains multiple links to advice for new citizens:

This man has given me new heart.
I'd still vote for TFD ... There might be drama around him but he doesn't whine.
Love the article, salty. You should get your butt into congress ... and into TCO 😛

There you go, that is my first 10 days in congress, couple of articles later is the second 10 days in congress, and in a day or two, I will post the next 10 and so on until I am no longer in congress. Also, most of the congressional stuff does NOT take place in closed congress, and I say that as someone with access to both sides.
Take the time and learn about who is running, don't just not vote. You can find out about some of the candidates, it's not that hard when you just take the time to read. If you choose not to vote, that is your choice, but giving up before you even bother trying says more about you as a person, than it does about the system.
Let's rise to the challenge then, and raise the bar on our electoral expectations!
There is the benefit of 2 experience points. If you want the exp. but still want to sit it out, then perhaps dump your vote on someone with no chance of getting in. Sitting out doesn't have to mean losing out.
A message for new voters brought to you by the apolitical block of eCanada.
btw Kazuo - the weapons I won from you in a contest a month ago did about 1K damage on the LK wall. Yeehaw, thanks
My friend, you have no clue what you are talking about because those players that are going for congressmen have leadership skills inside them waiting to be released and those players are running to get your word and everyone else that is living in eCanada's word to politics or government. How can you say negative stuff about it, you havn't even been a congressmen.
patar, your attemtp to insult Kazuo only serves to prove his point. Kazuo clearly admits he "has no clue" about Congress, and one of the reasons no doubt is that he hasn't been a Congressman, as you also accurately pointed out.
The issue is about being an informed voter. Kazuo is an active player but probably doesn't feel he understands what the candidates stand for. The issue is also about being an educated citizen, or the lack of opportunity to become one. Obviously uneducated citizens should just sit out and not vote if experienced politicians such as yourself don't listen to the requests from developing players: "We have plenty of structures in place to make this happen, such as the mentor program and the University of eCanada, and we value them so much that our MPs, who make up the vast majority of candidates for re-election, have let them fall by the wayside."
Does the "University of eCanada" have real professors?
No it doesn't. Why? Because it's not a real University, that's why. Just like we are not real politicians, and this is not a real society.
In case you people haven't noticed, this is just a game, and nobody is a real "anything". Not a president, not a judge, not even a writer.
Somebody has to get elected however, because there are certain buttons in-game that need to be pushed.
So yes, somebody needs to get voted in, whether they stand for anything or not.
SO VOTE FOR PATAR!!!
Je pense que contrairement à ce que tu insinu, les gens savent très bien pourquoi ils votent, et c'est la raison pour laquelle ils votent pour l'Union Nationale.
Ta position anarchique ne peut tenir la rampe.
That silly chameleon Patar beat Alias Vision for a Congress seat in Ontario - that ought to tell you about how informed eCanadian voters are as they head to the polls
BTW, nothing personal against Patar, its just that for those who are paying attention, his numerous transformations long ago got to the point of silliness, so its hard to see him legitimately beating a serious candidate like AV
