These guys kept America safe.
They also negotiated with Phoenix in secret, and when it was exposed they suffered a public backlash for it.
A lot of people got on their case about it, and I suspect it's one of the reasons why they wanna leave the game now.
It's just that people reacted harshly because there wasnt a public debate about changing alliances.
It's simple. The way it works is that citizens dont want to fight old allies.
A lot of people that are in politics learn this the hard way. Politicians become entrusted with big decisions and in the process of negotiating with leading statesmen it's natural that they will start to prefer one side over the other.
This new-found fondness of the other alliance does not trickle down to the citizens however. It is a lesson you learn once in this game, and then you dont repeat it.
If you are lucky, you will be forgiven for it by your countrymen. If not, it will cause you to either quit the game or go to another country to play.
Woxan and Max will always be great Americans.
America has already forgiven you.

Truth
Ill miss them both.
Quit kidding yourself. There's only one person the eUS needs and that mans name is...AJAY BRUNO!!!
😃
Voted.
I wish MM2 had given me some gold before leaving.
M'eh.
Woxan's not leaving because of "negotiating" with Phoenix, he's leaving because he's burnt out and has been for months. The presidency was basically the only thing he hadn't accomplished, and now that he's been a successful president he can finally eDie in peace. (;_😉
Awesome.
Bye Woxan and Max 🙂 Polish friends of USA won't miss you.

Fundamental rule of the business.
Once you have done all you can, exit stage left.
"Politicians become entrusted with big decisions and in the hoopla of talking with leading eRepublik personalities it's natural that they will start to prefer one side over the other."
This is just wrong. If I'm the leader of some country, then no matter how much I personally prefer chatting with the leader of X than the leader of Y, if Y is our strategic ally and X is not, going with my personal preferences over the interests of your nation is simply immature and shows I'm not fit for leadership duties.
Woxan and his crew have done a lot to antagonize some EDEN countries (especially Poland, probably also Spain and Romania) with their actions. USA might feel the damage yet, when Phoenix, safe in Europe now due in no small part to your lack of commitment to this war, decides to overtake Karnataka. Right now you're feeling good about the outcomes of the war since you haven't actually lost anything material, but you might just be underestimating how much losing the trust of your allies actually costs.
I hope you actually turn around and start cooperating more and plotting less. It would be a welcome change and I do believe that most citizens, both in USA and in EDEN countries, actually support it. It's just the leaders sometimes thinking they can be more cunning than it's really worth.
