eCanadian unity: Where do you stand?
Treian
Unity. It is a strong word that describes an ideal that many desire to attain, but what is it really??
Unity is defined as such:
1. The state or quality of being in accord; harmony.
2. The combination or arrangement of parts into a whole; unification.
My vision of eCanada can be defined in all three of these. I wish to see us all as one people and as one eNation. I hope to see us all in accord and in harmony as eCanadians. I desire to see all our many parts arranged into a whole. Many thought eCanada’s unification came when the last of our regions was won back and the nation as a whole was put back on the map.
Perhaps….. Yes perhaps we did achieve #2 of the defined meanings of unity, but what about the first??
With all the recent infighting and the line that has been drawn between two languages and the people who speak them, this is a difficult thing to accomplish. We are a nation of multiculturalism, a nation of many backgrounds, and a nation of 2 official languages……. But we are still ONE NATION!!!
My eCanada is not divided by Francophone and Anglophone.
My eCanada includes all people regardless of spoken language and background.
My eCanada is a nation in which we are all welcomed and made to feel at home.
As of late I have been harsh on the UN for their “contravercial” policies and the words they have chosen in some of their articles. While they are the ones drawing this line, there are those who choose to stand in opposition on the other side of it. It all needs to stop here and now. We are eCanadians. Whether it be French, English, African, European or Asian eCanadians, we are still eCanadians.
With V2 upon us it is time we think of our future and what we want it to be.
So now picture if you will our great eNation. Now picture a large circle around it.
That is MY line. I have now drawn the line. It encompasses us all; all of eCanada and all eCanadians.
Now I ask you: What side are you on???

What we need is a hint of Nationalism in eCanada.
We are only united when we all have a common foe, like Hungary, Iran, France, Uk, etc.
Otherwise we go for eachother's throats - its the eCanadian way.
eCanada, in times of peace will always be divided.
Actually SpockPQ, all races on earth are represented in Canada.
It ain't the two of us anymore.
I say we wait for V2 before we get too crazy about unity.
😉
Yeah right! V2 will be just like we have always been but with perhaps even more disunity as everyone tries to climb over the others with the disorganization it will bring.
"Now I ask you: What side are you on???"
I stand in the middle of the line, taking both sides 🙂
Great article
😃
People need to chill the hell out and stop crying so much.
*Smears clove oil in Captain Kushskins eyes to make him cry too*
Trian a dit << My eCanada includes all people regardless of spoken language and background.
My eCanada is a nation in which we are all welcomed and made to feel at home. >>
Alors, Trian : Now I ask you: What side are you on???
I do try, but it would never have sounded the same. Just because my french is not that great, doesn't mean I am against inclusion. If I had the capasity to translate it into other languages heard in eCanada I would have done that too.
It's not a line it's a circle!!! 🙂

Bonjour Trian,
Paul Emix- I only try to write my thoughts in french cause there are those who would call me out over that. I have no wish to attack the francophone community as a whole. As in every area there are a few who give a bad reputation to all. My intentions were to simply express my hope for a unified nation under which all languages and all heritages were made feel welcome. I do recognize the importance of the french heritage of Canada and eCanada and would like nothing more than for there to be a nation unified under both....... My only reservation is a party founded by the francophone comunity who's main focus is that of eQuebec and the promotion of the francophone comunity rather than promoting the nation and all it's people. You don't think we anglophones do this do you??
Never do I address ONLY the english eCanadians..........
I wrote this article in hopes that the FEW who seem to be drawing this dividing line are doing so while claiming to be fighting for rights.......
Does one have to speak and write French in order to appreciate the wealth of ideas the Francophonie bring? Does an inability to write and speak French, lessen the sincerity of eCanadians everywhere that ours is a nation of cultures? Canada, as it is now, is a looking glass into the future. What peers back at us is a vision of how the world should be, many tongues, many cultures, with one unified history and glorious future.
Bravo Flory !
<< My only reservation is a party founded by the francophone comunity who's main focus is that of eQuebec and the promotion of the francophone comunity rather than promoting the nation and all it's people. >>
good article treian...
but does anyone else find it humorous that at the end of an article calling for unity you ask
"what side are you on"
