Open letter to the eBelgium government
Palodigon
First off I'd like to point out that the official eBelgium forums can be found here:
http://ebelgium.forumotion.net/forum.htm
Now for my real letter.
I've only started playing erepublik actively again for a month or two now. And eversince I became active again, doing more than the daily working and trainging, I noticed the lack of competence of the current government.
I don't want to bitch about what a bunch of retards you guys are. I'm not that kind of guy, I too want the best for eBelgium and want it to be a flourishing state. That's why I'm writing this letter, out of concern.
Now let's get to the point here. I've been checking the forums daily and have also actively joined a debate every now and then but what I have seen astonished me. Let me rephrase that. What I didn't see astonished me.
I didn't see anyone of the government taking control of the situation. Everyone's been japping about Thomasred being able to keep his function as MoD or not. A thread of 5 pages!
that's all the government seems to have done the last month. Talk about someone.
eBelgium is in a crisis at the moment. We could be PTO'd or attacked my a foreign country any time now. Someone needs to take control and our current president doesn't seem to be able to do so.
Our law book is empty. Nothing has been discussed, no decisions taken.
No actions have been taken to stabelise the economy. Nothing at all.
No actions have been taken to form a political environment in wich eBelgium can live. I have seen people discussing about wether a vote is valid or not. This is because there are no rules. Nothing has been done.
Belgium = Anarchy
litterally.
So I ask to you, politicians, congressmen, and members of the government of eBelgium.
Do something! Today!
Work on laws
brainstorm for ideas
make plans to form a healthy economy
because if we continue like this, believe me, eBelgium would be better off being a puppet state of god knows what alliances exist nowadays.

i couldnt agree more, except as a group statement. i have been trying to help the economy and reform taxes, but alas, the incompetent government wont respond to the threads. in keeping with impromptu rules we have established, i cant move forward with my proposals, as no matter how much sense they make, it will be "EDEN TRICKERIES!!!1" as the boogeyman is out to get them. yes... i agree with you a lot. incompetent congress, and an incompetent president who spends his time fighting windmills than accomplishing anything. he could have had a great victory for him and his pheonix cabinet had he just established a legitimate bank to donate funds too...
no input, no progress, a fail for us all.
yea there need to be some changes, however both parties are slowing down both proposals.
jason said he wanted to do some stuff but some proposals he made didnt make sense so he gets it for it.
u will see in time it will come, for now everybody is trying to keep belgium as neutral as possible, because that is what keep belgium from beeing attacked.
if they didnt make sense, i didnt hear about it. not very many responses from an incompetent congress interested only in fighting windmills.
Let me tell you something, here it is not eUNL... We do not landed in a country as beautiful and stable.
Here, we start from scratch! Reviving the economy and attract all belgian in a good and interesting country is no small matter. It will take time and if you done everything for us do not succeed, the eBelgium disappear as quickly as it reappeared.
Baab +1
We don't get the liberty to rebuild everything up. Every proposal is blocked or unlimited discussed.
jason, incompetent congress? You are part of it you know...

so good to see you are still alive and with us. Glad to see you have time to post things here. Your presence has been missed on the forum where the government is suppose to be acting. I know you are upset about the ThomasRED vote, but lets try to move forward with some real plans.
I think the actual danger of an invasion is rather small, and the odds of a potential PTO are also getting smaller, since eBelgian citizenship is no longer free to obtain. Instead of concentrating on external dangers, we should start dealing with internal problems - the lack of trust between people of different political orientation is becoming rediculous, and the word "neutrality" has been dropped so often that it lost any value. Seeing how things evolve, I almost start to think that living under a dictature but which would reform our economy and constitution, would be better than the situation we are in now. And that is sad.
@ Aldous Zamiatin's (above me, one month ago) "...I think the actual danger of an invasion is rather small, and the odds of a potential PTO are also getting smaller, since eBelgian citizenship is no longer free to obtain.)...and this very prophetic article:
Other nations should profit(,gaining wisdom,) from Belgium's experience...but few will.
