[Derp4PotUS] Consistency with CODE
Derphoof
Oftentimes, when I’ve run for president, the goal was to change things up in some way. After all, if you like the status quo, why run at all? Let someone else do the work. Obviously, I’ve laid down the basis for what I want to do on the domestic front. That has been my focus.
Yet, some know that I like foreign affairs and I’ve often worked to change the game in different ways. I’ve tried to position America to make new friends, find a stronger position, or to become more active on the world stage. As Secretary of State in 2014, I helped to launch negotiations on a new alliance with Croatia and Brazil. While it didn’t pan out, it opened the door for closer relations with different countries as we began to see our way out of a long wipe.
In 2017, as PotUS, I sought to create better unity within a divided Pacifica by taking the USA off of it’s “fence” and aligning it more properly with Asteria. I helped to consolidate Pacifica behind that position as well, solidifying it with the election of Yui as SG. Just as well, we went on a bit of a warpath instead of playing “Farmville.” While it was quite successful, that path was reversed fairly quickly as both new and familiar faces gained new control over foreign affairs after my term ended. This also helped reinforce the idea that the US was unreliable.
So, where are we now? What needs to be done?
As I mentioned, in 2013, I tried to facilitate the creation of a new alliance during the Paul Proteus presidency. As had been the case for a long time, Serbia was the leader of TWO, controlling the majority of the world’s damage. Since the collapse of T-EDEN, there was no true hefty opposition to Serbia, especially once TWO was created.
The creation of TWO and collapse of EDEN crushed the opposition to Serbia, as Romania and Argentina joined their side. The eUS was subsequently wiped for the first time, after remaining ardently opposed to Serbia, as geopolitical conflict and PTO activities burst into war between our two nations. My goal was to try to put an end to the overwhelming domination of TWO, as some discord was evident in their ranks.
While my efforts failed to materialize into an actual alliance, our officials and international allies delivered on that in April with the creation of CODE. For the first time in years, there was a true force that could oppose Asteria on the battlefield. While others like Syndicate, had tried, they largely failed to deliver and were snuffed out.
Meanwhile, CODE has seen major victories on the battlefield and has helped the USA to regain and maintain her sovereignty on the world map. For the first time in a while, Asteria is the one on the run. No longer do we see domination on the map and in the psyche of the people.
This is due to the resilience, coordination, and effort of CODE nations and allies. This is why CODE has my full support. It is not just an alliance in name, but in deed. It’s not just about the big boys like Croatia, but the smaller nations like Ireland as well. The efforts of CODE nations show a brotherhood that is forging a new future for the game on the battlefield, bringing about the end of Asteria dominance.
As PotUS, I will continue the support of this alliance and work with them foster a greater future for both ourselves and our partner nations in CODE.

just for the record
"solidifying it with the election of Yui as SG"
- I was the 'opponent' of Yui that time - the election was a solid tie (5-5) two times, and settled by acting SG TheJuliusCaesar personally (no offense, he had a full right to do it). And yes, this was a move to "aligning it more properly with Asteria", making the alliance the puppet of Asteria by Khere (PL), Yui and WildOwl. As a 'seal' of that new line was the AS against Croatia from US, followed by the removal of Hungary from Pacifica. Just for the record.
Welcome onboard anyway 🙂
No hard feelings? ❤
depends on towards who 😉
So, just a couple of things to set this straight.
1. WildOwl had nothing to do with me promoting an Asteria agenda. WildOwl was actively opposed to me, every step of the way. He was very concerned because he knew I'd go my own way on FA, and hop off the fence. I basically pushed him towards the sideline. Almost as soon as I exited, WO began talking with power brokers about getting the USA back to a more even footing, and acting on it. Didn't take long for that to break down, however.
2. Hitting Croatia was more about some people's individual grudges than anything else. The pitch to Congress gave no other rationale than "this would be fun" and it was tossed around in private as a way to act on personal feelings. There was some talk of seeing who would choose the USA over Croatia, but nobody was actually going to war to figure that out.
In any case, I'm all for CODE and I hope all is well with you and with Hungary.
Also WildOwl flipped 2 votes for Nalaja in the SG election, apparently.
so like ???
Derp, you are more than welcome now in CODE. I'm not in politics anymore (neither is WO), told the story just to show all aspects.
I took comment because I was the HUN CP in that 2 months when this SG election was going on. I nominated him and did my best to win. So I know the details.

There is the same domination on the map and in the psyche of the people only not by Asteria but by Code. Meanwhile the game has sunk into a P2W of the worst kind. Nice to see you trying to play but you cannot change (do) anything without investing thousands of euros in the game.
A country that is part of CODE is controlled by a.dictatorship. What to do?
While I like CODE and think TWs are useful, they need a much more rigid framework to operate in.
We bumped heads last congressional session over this very topic so I find it no surprise you make no mention of codifying which states are free, which are rotational, and which are camping rentals.
The bottom line is the people of the eUSA need to have a firm playbook to read from, and it needs to be consistently applied. We can't have some ally randomly invading a free state and camping there for 3 days before the executive addresses it.
I agree that we need to be consistent with our allies, but our allies also need to be consistent with us.
A lot of things are too convoluted as is and with the lack of activity throughout the game it has made doing some things very difficult. Also just one note, you guys talking about TW's .. Have any of you helped maintain the walls and know what it takes to do so? Just curious...
Much of the confusion stems from the fact that Carlos wrote an article a few months ago (before I returned to the game in fact) and that was the only guiding post people ever got. It has been changed since then and the only people that really know jack about that are the executive, NOTHING makes its way to congress, much less the general population.
As far as walls go, yeah I try, I don't put out monstrous levels of damage but I do make the attempt when I can make a difference (even sometimes when I can't).
hcmadman: your not totally wrong , its a legit gripe. I dont think most people realize how bad activity is and instead of being divided we need the active people, to actively seek to help. It's the state of the game. I would welcome a message, and I will help however I can. PPL within the gov have seeked people to write articles and put out things, but no one is willing to do it.
Even the few times we get specific info in the national feed it either gets burried or people don't pay any attention. Articles might help with the general state of confusion and I have advocated for their revival. We shall see what gets kicked loose this session.
The true fix for this issue is for the dang admins to bring back DOs.
I still think we really need a more binding document to guide people than articles and that we need to spread the TW planning responsibilities out to more than Potus and SecDef, many hands make light work.
We also need to get younger accounts involved to solve our manpower issues, they may not be world class fighters but they can do the backend jobs.
