ha I thought my cat was the only one obsessed!
I had this happen to me. Oh sure, cats play with the ornaments all the time. So I always put the soft fabric and stuffing ornaments on the bottom where the cat can reach them. But once I couldn't find the cat. Looked everywhere for hours until I figured that must be outside. Then I heard a rustle from the tree. I found the cat deep in the middle of it. He had sap on his fur from the trunk but he didn't care. Christmas trees are a tradition made for cats.
