A diplomatic view at the war in Europe

Day 811, 12:24 Published in Poland Romania by 8-3=1

It has been some time since I last wrote about the latest developments in the European war.

In my previous article I said that it is likely that EDEN will gain control of W Europe (which happened at least on a short term) and that UK will prove to be a tougher piece to break than Germany or France (which looks apparent at least to me at this moment).

I also said the future of E Europe looks bleaker for EDEN which seems to be losing ground against Phoenix in the region. This is not so apparent but let's take another look.

First of all the new power of eRepublik being Poland made quite clear their intentions that they want to focus on W Europe front together with Spain and USA, rather than taking a strategic view towards the E Europe. This is valid for the time being and doesnt seem to be changing.

Secondly, Romania seems to be stuck in their original territories and there are quite a few people who expect a Phoenix attack in Romanian territories. But does it make sense for Phoenix to attack now Romania, triggering a lot of MPPs in the process?

a. Yes, it does make sense.
a.1. USA, Poland and Spain seem to be busy with UK at the moment. They dont seem to be looking at the E Europe which is exposed at the moment.
a.2. Phoenix forces didnt seem to be spending a lot of money in defending France. They are either collecting money for a counter-offensive in W Europe or for an attack in E Europe.
a.3. Phoenix seemed to be full of joy upon seeing the message of Romanian president announcing a limited support from Romania towards Eden actions. Even if an attack on Romania does not succeed, Phoenix propagandists will fill the air with their cries that Eden allies once again failed to support Romania.

b. No, it does not make sense.
b.1. Romania has not been fighting in the W Europe so much, therefore a Phoenix attack will not drain damage from W Europe front.
b.2. Phoenix can kiss good-bye to any relation with Romania and they can actually contribute to re-establish of a true Eden brotherhood.
b.3. Romanian baby-boom. Usually an attack in Romanian regions triggers a significant increase in the number of users, especially when regions are lost.

Looking at all the above, seems like Phoenix still know how to trade well. They pulled out of W Europe which could have proved difficult to defend anyway and they might be gathering their forces for an attack in E Europe. While a good part of Eden forces will be stuck in the war in UK (with loads of MPPs activated against them therefore forced to keep initiative), Phoenix can send their troops to fight in E Europe. Now it is time for Eden to prove the material they are made of.
