[Garmr] I lost

Dear fellow citizens,

I lost the elections, and I am fine with that. As I had real life obligations at university and work, I have barely been online today to write an article.

I ran a pretty civil campaign. I refrained from mass messaging, mass gifting of food and tanks, and from contacting dead I&W members to vote for me. I assumed it would stay a civil, even though people like the now banned Reinier Claeszen pounced on me with all kinds of personal attacks. I was wrong.

At it's core this election was a choice between two systems of democracy. liberalism lost, republicanism won. I advise you to study Habermas before you make any quasi-intellectual remark about it. I still firmly believe a liberal system of democracy would give a lot of players more fun with this game.

After the increasing remarks I got an increasing urge to accept the invitation for civil war. But the great men of old times (Mitch Rapp, Auggustus, Luuklag and Antiko) are either dead or largely inactive. There's no fun in civil war without them, and I guess I'm above such things now anyway. So I won't bite.

Again, I do not care for losing an election. That's democracy or what passes for it in this game. What I am appalled about is the mentality of the 'other' side. Not once has someone disagreed with my goals or policies.

So what did these political masterminds say about me?
- I ran away to USA because PL occupied us, and will probably do so right now since I lost elections.
- I am a shady puppetmaster who controls 2.D.G to start an impeachment vote.
- I am responsible, if not the thief himself, for the theft of our treasury in feb '12.
- I ran for CP because I wanted to steal the treasury (did you know that I could have logged in to DNB any day between Oct '11 up to Nov '13?)
- I am compared to Stalin.
- I supposedly insulted van Spijck on irc. Look at this picture for a log.

If someone can show me saying anything like this towards the opposing side, I'd be very grateful. Because I can't recall it.


I am going to continue playing eRep, as citizen of eNL. Seeing the country does not need me, I will focus on my beloved party instead. To those who will want to continue pestering me, I have one very urgent piece of advice. If you ever want to attend a RL meeting, stop talking to me and about me.
