Time For Funding Reform
Petz
The time has come for congress to re-examine how it funds eCanadians who want to fight for eCanada. In the past groups like the CAF had their place but now since admins have created military units, any group or individual should be able to request daily funding for battles or for training. eCanadians should not be subjected to being part of groups they do not wish to be in. In the past, organizations such as Health Canada were set up and effectly helped eCanadians develop and progress in the game. If eCanada wants to develop a strong fighting force all eCanadians should be able to receiving the funds necessary to build themselves up. Would there be a need to figure out how regular citizens request and receive funding? YES! but it is time that congress starts considering funding changes to adapt to the ever changing game. There are many inviduals in eCanada with higher strength and rank than members of the CAF or TCO who contribute to the treasury through their companies. These individuals should be able to receive the same level of funding as the others provided they are working for eCanada.
Congress take action now, begin looking at reforming the system to improve eCanada's ability to fight and defend itself.

Go to bed Petz.
This sounds like Mayhem
I hear this kind of talk is illegal and will be used as evidence against you in court for treason and other stuff
Delete this before someone takes a screencap
lol Rolo....
Sounds like bureaucracy and complication, but I do support weaning the CAF empire, so do it...
According to Jacobi's plan. A new Militia will receive 5 CAD per persons and battle, up to 15 CAD if the battles is involving a canadian regions.
Thought TCO and CAF budget will be increased and keep most of theirs privileges (17 000 CAD per week for CAF, 5000 per week for TCO), I think Jacobi plan is a good start regarding giving more CAD to the citizens who don't have time to go on IRC each days.
If we keep most of the game here on erepublik, there is less roleplay, this is what I like with the new MU.
5 CAD is a joke for citizens with high strength when CAF members are getting 35-60 plus training gold....That is why real reform needs to take place...time to make the system fair for all canadians....not just the elite few
I Jacobi's plan is a good start. I do think there would need to be some kind of regular qualifier needed to receive the funding. At TCO you are not required to go on IRC to receive supplies. All you need is to answer one weekly roll call and work in our slave pits. This simply ensures that we are not supplying someone who has become inactive or left the game.
Supplying the greater population would require organisation such as supply teams and monitors so what you end up with is essentially a defacto malitia.
especially if tanking becomes non existant because of the new gold rules...we should really be developing a nation instead of a few soldiers
Well I can't speak for the CAF but we supply everyone the same. Before the MM crashed and our government funding was cut we were providing booster training for all members under 1000 strength. Our tanks self supply for their tanking and usually give out extra supplies to the lower ranked players to help them out.
You state a valid case but need a functional reform plan. Hope to see that published next ~ otherwise, a well intentioned article. voted
Its easy to stand on the sidelines and point out what needs to be done.
This would take some sort of organization to be effective....hmmmm, organization with little commitment....hmmmmm, how about a national army that only requires you to make a weekly rollcall to make sure supplies are not going to inactive players, we can call it the Canadian Armed Forces, even shorten it up to CAF for people unwilling to put all those letters together, cuase that would take commitment.
TCO soldiers all get the same thing like Homer said, the execs fund themselves and usually work for the old minimum wage of 1.20
Its a neat idea petz but are you willing to put in the time to make it run smoothly and effectively, cuase there are a few in the CAF and TCO that do on a daily basis.
Here's an idea for a funding formula:
Allocate based on damage delivered in battles ordered by MoD.
Isn't this completely aligned with the national military strategy?
You assign a premium to the people who do lots of damage in the places where MoD wants you to fight. There are plenty of damage calculators out there, makes sense to me.
