The Great Debate Part 2
Anthony Colby
I figured I would try this again. I got a lot of good responses last time and I think it made some people think. It made some people mad I am sure but that is OK. We are a passionate people here in eIreland so that is to be expected.
The topic today is that it is more important to follow EDEN orders than to fight for our own self interest.
I want to see the responses that my fellow Irish citizens come up with. So take a side and post your feelings in the comments. I want to see a good discussion and not just inane responses that resort to name calling. Show your work. Back up your opinion with fact and history not just " because".

It depends on the circumstances but mostly yes, because if we help our friends then they will help us.
croatia did it for greece recently, and it turned out great for both. croatia got wiped off, but they got it back in a matter of days.
Its a global war. Fighting to keep your alliance strong, will undoubtedly come back to aid your country.
Well, following EDEN orders is in our own self interest. That's why we do it.
I think in any case, you have to look at the big picture and weigh the ultimate rewards of each course of action. If we can help our allies today and have them fight at our side tomorrow, perhaps that is better that going it alone and having to watch your own back all the time.
it's an alliance vs alliance war we are not alone neutreality didn't help much any country and neither did a lonely road against everyone
be a good ally and it will be recognized that's my opinion
I'm not a MoFA or MoD, and I don't think it's my e-job to be concerned about it, or voice an opinion. Let the top-brass call it, and the grunts should do as they are told. Military units should never be democracies.
If you don't fight regularly, then I don't want to hear about money-matters either - its ALL irrelevant when the country is wiped, so defence has to be the big enchilada. Clearly, we've never been able to keep our land safe without help from allies.
Eden specifically? TERRA? ONE? Whatever...mutual back-scratching is a winner, but I've never been a fan of either super-alliance, or their previous incarnations.
eIreland is too small to survive alone without picking a side tho', in the days of neutrality it was just parading with hurley sticks praying no-one invaded. Imo, neutrality in this game is utter nonsense. Fence-sitting nations are simply unprepared when the tanks roll through as a short-cut.
We chose EDEN, we should stand up and be counted. We choose another alliance? Same deal.
tbh, e-nowadays I follow my unit orders and don't think too much about the bigger picture anymore. I'm THAT sure they are getting it right.
🙂
o7 and Viva Libertad!
{Oh, sorry Tony Bagels, but a final thought? Don't you think that Mercenary and Resistance War Medals recently introduced have skewed everything anyway? It's the biggest shift (in where military damage goes) that I've ever seen here. One man and his flags, and f*ck the contracts...no?}
That is a very good point about the Mec medals Grainne. I may have to use that for my next debate question.
Sorry to go of topic here but I'm curious: Grainne, your currently head of Libertad IRE, you don't consider yourself 'top brass'?
Eden is important, because WWV is an eden/terra vs One war, and not a war agaisnt ireland, uk, canada ect, so eden/terra represents more one country agaisnt an other one, than lots of countries fighting all over the place.
did I made myself cristal?
😁 Its " Crystal Clear"
Or in balkan english: "Ic kristl klir"
It's also important to remember that our enemies are also 'following' EDEN/Terra battle strategy! As we do theirs.
'Stealing' lower profile battles while a major battle elsewhere has most ppl's attention is an effective tactic if managed correctly. You can ruin the enemies' plan for tomorrow today.
It's important to follow EDEN/Terra battle strategy.
Just do it with your brain switched on.
@Sweet "Grainne, your currently head of Libertad IRE, you don't consider yourself 'top brass'?"
Not in an eIrish context, no. We are an International Unit, based here, so we have orders relevant to Libertad as a whole: sometimes they are similar/same as eIrish orders, sometimes not.
I wouldn't dream of telling the eIrish what the IA should do. Jeezus, I'd be lynched if I so much as breathed a word of it 😛!

Grainne's ideas of planning are modeled off of Joker's speech in the Dark Knight.
You need to help yourself before you can help others.
