Something Better

Day 1,266, 21:59 Published in Canada Canada by Sperry

I login each day and wonder - what for? It seems to me there must be something more. Something more than threads in congress - an electoral chore! If I had my pick of wishes, I'd wish me out that door. 'Cause I'm hungry for adventure, and I'm fed up with this grind. If I don't have some excitement soon, I'm gonna lose my mind. I want a life that's filled with thrills, that's wild and free. There's gotta be something better - something better. There's gotta be something better than this for me.

Pirates meet Kevin Bishop? Even Acacia can't resist this shit.

About a year ago, someone gave me some very valuable advice. Unfortunately I am forgetful, and I can't remember who that person was. It could have been Dominik, but something tells me it was Tom Hagen. Or possibly D'Addy Lawrence. Whoever it was, thank you. I've decided to finally listen to your suggestion, because I am curious about just how correct you were.

It's no secret that I know next to nothing about the "most important" aspect of this game, the military module. While I've certainly been around long enough that you'd expect me to - I wandered into Canada just before Nova Scotia was overrun - I'm only a paltry Captain. If memory serves I've only ever bought 2 guns, one of which I gave away. Both of those were nearly 2 years ago. I never set foot on a hex grid at the outset of V2, and apart from glimpsing at a battle or two this month I have next to no idea how the current system works.

Not helpful at all.

This complete apathy for combat and 'patriotism' (what?) has been pretty deliberate. I didn't come to this game for war, I didn't enjoy it because of those wars, and I haven't stayed for wars. Apart from maps and paying attention for the 25th, I've all but ignored that part of the game.

...Until now.

For reasons various, complicated, and almost entirely selfish, I'm curious about this part of the game now. You've got my attention, even if it isn't worth much. So now I want to learn. I will put this as plainly as possible - I am as ignorant as they get. I defy you to find someone as old as me who knows as little. But given that I'm a horribly curious thing, I want to soak in as much information as I can. CAF? TCO? Foreign Affairs Schtuff? Newer, and often smaller, military groups? Anything goes.

I'm told there's a vast network of people in Canada who have built a fantastic niche community out of this module. I'd like to see that. No strings attached, and you can trust that I'm harmless enough to not blow up any embassies to Ikea.

I would be eternally grateful to the person(s) willing to show me this grand and mysterious creature. Seeking passage for one aboard the HMS Discovery - any room on board?

Best;

PS: Does anyone else think Billy Bones looks like Adasko?
