Day 859, 08:49 Published in Ireland Ireland by Anthony Colby
New Dail

Congratulations to all the winners of Thursdays Dail election. While we have many old faces returning to the Dail we also have some new faces. With the mix of old and new we should get some new ideas and new insight on some of the old business.

Some of the new business being discussed is a proposal introduced by Citizen Snap[CnG] on whether to have the newly elected members of the Dail donate their five gold given to them on winning the election to the government. While some think it is a bad idea others think it would help keep people who do not want to serve from running. Some are in it just for the gold and if they do not get to keep it then the more honest people will be the ones running. A third position on the subject is that good or bad there would be no way to enforce the legislation.
Also being discussed is the status of the moderator of the national chat room. The current moderator is\was the former President Dubhhaight. Since he is no longer a citizen of Ireland it was proposed to change the moderator. Current discussions for a replacement are underway.

Banc Ceannis

As of late there have been a few unexplained donations made to private citizens by the Banc Ceannis. Different amounts of gold have been transfered to players accounts that were not asked for in terms of a loan or not due to those citizens. All passwords were changed on transfer of the Executive power last week. An investigation is underway to see if security has been breached or if something else is going on.

Irish Defense Forces Shakeup

As of yesterday Gleb2006 and John Jay were removed from their positions in the IDF. Replacements are being chosen as of press time.

Also being discussed is the changes that are due to take effect when the anticipated V2 is released by the Admins. A new way of fighting will be introduced where individual battles will take place between players on maps with different terrain and strategic points. At first all battle maps will be the same with a few different maps used to represent a regions terrain. It is assumed that over time different regions will get their own unique maps. Different weapons and uses for buildings will change the face of war and both private citizens and Dail members have posted many newspaper articles and forum threads with their own thoughts as to what these changes will mean.

An Taoiseach Election

On April 5 we will elect a new President. The current candidates for the office are Dylanb9216 of the Irish Freedom Party, patton of the Irish Union Party, Glorious Connolly of the Labour Party, Dan Murchadh of Clann na nGael and Munster Tom of the Irish Rugby Party. Candidates Dan Murchadh and Munster Tom have selected goals to be seen the day before the election. Candidates will or have posted their platforms for all to read. Hopefully with the election on the fifth Ireland will turn a page and get past the divisiveness of the past month and can begin the work of moving Ireland towards V2 and the future.
