Congress Elections; Columns!
Willem The Conqueror
Dear Readers,
The Eye of Tomorrow wanted to publish two columns for the upcoming Congressional Elections. As the previous time, these columns are written by two different persons, one member of a top-5 party and one non-top 5 party member. This time, we have Mister Michiel de Ruyter (van Spijck) and Mister James Janeway!
We've asked both Mister de Ruyter and Mister Janeway the same question; what do you expect from the upcoming Congressional Elections?
So Let's Start!
Let's start with Mister Michiel de Ruyter! (Geuzen Partij Nederland)
Ofcourse I'm hoping for a well balanced Congress, although it'll only be a 10 seated Congress due to Poland's late action. I'm also hoping that facts will count for the CM's, and not from which party a proposal comes. Respect for oneanother would also be very nice.
🙂
We will continue with Mister James Janeway! (Hollands Glorie)
A Question: do you think Congress Elections are very important and can change our Nation?
If your answer is 'Yes' I think you are really an optimist. But ... not a realist.
If your answer is: Congress is not important at all, i have to see: sometimes it seems you are right. But: if congress works in a good way, it can make a difference.
It is a bad thing that congress is not really democratic. Only the 5 largest parties can get members in it. That means:
1. The other parties, with active members, have no vote in congress.
2. Some parties sometimes play a game. Members of a party went to another for a few days, to get that party in the top 5.
Is that democracy? I do not think so.
It would be better if the system was changed. So that we became a realy democratic system.
And than: the members of congress that do nothing. I think that congresmembers that are not active, are not worth the honor of representing the people of our nation.
(William wanted an article in English. Everybody knows that i like to write in Dutch.'
Yours,
James Janeway.
Hollands glorie.
I personally want to thank the two columnists for their work in these columns. Without them this article didn't existed. Also I want to wish every party good luck with the Congress Elections.
As always please vote and subscribe to the newspaper, that would be really appreciated! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more news!

Willem The Conqueror

"herp derp"
I won't even bother to give an in-depth comment because dialectics don't work on the dogmatic.
send a PM to plato would be my advice to chance the in-game politics, this module hasn't changed since beta (then we had mayors and stuff)
Well, it has changed, we don't vote for individuals from all parties anymore, but instead we vote for the top-5 parties.
That clearly is a less democratic system, which James Janeway clearly is also much opposed to.
On the other hand the old system also had its flaws, unless you think that parties are meaningless, and really only individuals matter... In the old system, parties had to keep track of which candidates were getting too many votes, and had to advice to vote other candidates... That implementation also lacked democracy.
ik knipperde en keek over MdR z'n column heen trouwens... zo kort?! James Janeway (niet eNL's grootste licht in het oog van velen) komt er stuk beter vanaf.
Misschien toch een wat groter licht als door sommigen wordt aangenomen?
