CP - Britain at War Pt. I (+ Supplies)
CptChazbeard
So I had been hoping to update you right at the beginning of the term with news of a Training War with the Belgians. This was preagreed at the end of the last term but didn't happen due to the political strife in their country.
After this was then pursued the Irish for a TW instead and made what I thought was a more than fair offer for their participation. However, they had all but started one with Albania already, so no dice.
Christ am I glad these didn't go ahead.
The Argentine Offensive
For quite some time the South Americans have been sat on our border. “What are they doing there? It's cold and bitter this far North.” we wondered.
Now they try to venture further North, where their days will only get colder and more bitter.
In the eyes of some our NE on Argentina was perhaps reckless; I for one am proud of the eUK as a nation. Though a game certain real emotions are transferable and pride is one, no matter the game most players strive to win in their own way.
We're not long out of a wipe at the hands of the US and Sweden and a subsequent Russian invasion, yet we've opted to go to war in aid of an ally whilst our wounds are still sore.
Congress were made more than aware of the cons of launching an attacks on Argentina. Namely a potential wipe especially if the Argentinians jumped the gun and didn't reserve their NE. Still they, with the government fully in support of the move, voted overwhelmingly in favour of such action.
Of course boredom and True Patriot damage played a part in this, it's a bloody war game and we were without war. Ultimately we were taking on a far more powerful nations to help a pretty recent ally. After all, what's the point in becoming allies if we weren't prepared to help them as best we can? I think it was the right decision.
The Opening Move
France having so many regions a multi-fronted blitzkreig was the preferred plan. For it to be totally a success we'd need their damage split all over the place and yesterday would be the first test of their reaction.
Unsurprisingly they turned their attention to the UK. With an NE in tow and us being the weakest of the three it seemed the logical thing to do, especially as we have resource in the North that would make up for bonuses lost in France.
At the time of writing the war has now come to English soil in the South East of England (aka Philcollinsborough). Though I am loathe to attribute the merits of victory unto what was a defeat, we played our part and played it well.
For this operation to ultimately be a success we need to be selfless at times and whilst we lost a battle our allies Spain and France romped home in theirs. Without our presence I very much doubt this would have been the case and so long as we keep fighting we're helping them.
What next?
We do what we always do. Keep on fighting and being a pain in the butt as this war has only just begun and we still have our role to play. If the Argentines make inroads into the UK then we switch to our guerilla tactics and give them hell.
Assistance and Allies
A great deal of gratitude is owed to our allies at present. Behind the scenes they have been fantastic in communicating and the UK has always been of great concern to them. Though we lost yesterday many many battles went Epic so it's clear to see they were splashing out the damage on us, it would have been a minor miracle for us to win on all three fronts however.
There has been a few questions raised as to COs. The eUK spent quite a fair amount on them but lets be honest we don't have an infinite amount of resources and when the battle looks lost, especially if it's gone epic, then we do hold back. Our allies too placed COs for us yesterday and at a very very conservative guess I'd say around 1.2mil was spent yesterday...remember this is just the beginning.
SUPPLIES
If any eUKer needs/wants supplies then just shout “The Fork Handles Are Ours!” and receive 150 Q5 food and 20Q7 weapons.
(Sadly due to what happened to Sir Jimmy last month I can only extend this offer to eUKers)
I'll do a less wall of text type article next time, gotta lot of work to do IRL and on here atm.
Cheers,
Chaz

"1.2mil was spent yesterday...remember this is just the beginning."
And a perfect argument in support of starving the MoD of any more funding - what a complete waste
time to play bingo maybe?
Out of that sum only about 150k was spent of government money that was left over from the past war.
I wouldn't call our private citizens and allies contributions a complete waste when mutual defence is the target.
