Prologue
The defensive stance of the Brotherhood of Eden has finally been broken, as Spain, a core member of Eden has launched an invasion towards a nation which they share a common history of hatred, but which today is neutral and has shown signs that they share mutual goals with Eden nations, and, at least in some point, a common enemy as well.
This nation is of course France. In the height of the power of PEACE, France invaded Spain entirely with several MPP
But it all went wrong. Spain was entirely conquered, closing the war between them and France. Spain used several methods of internal terrorism to tear France apart, and succeeded very well. The powerful economy of Spain distracted the French monetary market, and with the combined usage of false articles in the French media and trap companies, the Spaniards quelled the baby boom, and today France has only 6,000 citizens.
After Eden gathered their forces and organized a resistance against PEACE, Spain launched a series of Resistance Wars and liberated several regions. In a joint effort with USA, Spain RW:d back their High Iron region when PEACE was distracted after USA attacked Indo occupied California.
France was beaten up badly, and Spain rose from the ashes more powerful than ever. They also declared war against France, which was never used effectively. But the seeds of revenge were sown.
Day 1
Why France is so controversial
France was one of the nations who disagreed with PEACE superpowers on how the alliance should have been ran. The famous article of the French President, Lyne Faynel and the peace agreement with USA inspired some people to speculate, that France will eventually join Eden, or at least share close ties with them in the future. France pissed off Indonesia by defending Malaysia furiously, thus denying Indonesia to invade it and France is without a doubt the most important reason why Malaysia still exists.
Yesterday all these efforts were thrown in vain as Spain attacked, and aimed to conquer the high Wood region of Aquitaine. Also attacks on Midi-Pyrenees and Languedoc Roussillon were started.
The attack on Aquitaine is the most important, as it is the home of 2225 Frenchmen, and contains high wood. The wall there plummeted from the initial 280,000 to 80,000 at 00:00 eRep time but the wall rose steadily and sat at 165k at 11:00 eRep time.
This attack will put Eden in very difficult situation, with the dust merely landed from the Peruvian incident.
Eden in trouble
The issue of France will cause some serious internal squabble within the alliance. France would have been a valuable ally. (but there is no doubt that Spain is more valuable.) Eden most likely declares their neutrality in this issue, as it is permitted for member nations to perform independent military actions. Spain is a strong country, and there are very good chances for them to win at least the most important battle, as there are several medium sized countries in France’s MPP
What makes it interesting is the stances of different Eden countries towards France. Will the Polish militants revenge the aid Spain gave to Argentina when they invaded Polish controlled Peru? Will the Indonesians, furious of the help France gave to Malaysia help Spain? And who does USA support, their new Alliance where they joined two days ago, or a nation they have made peace with, and share reasonable close ties today?
And will the ex-PEACE bloc grab to this chance? Today, France isn’t there for Malaysia...
Day 2
Due to some impressive last minute tanking Spain won all three battles and now controls Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrenees and Languedoc Roussillon. Also the international opinion towards the aggression has calmed, as several high ranking officials from Eden Headquarters have given their blessings to the war.
But the future of the campaign is uncertain, as Russia has proposed an Alliance with France, and might halt the Spaniards from conquering France entirely.
Iberian wrath
Spain timed the attacks near the change of eRepublik day, and unleashed their armies to tear the walls of the French regions down while there were no resistance from France or their allies. The final conclusion was also trusted to the hands of Spanish tanks, and we witnessed an impressive demonstration of power from them. The key battle in Aquitaine was over 200,000 points in favor of the French just ten minutes from the end, but the Spanish army was determined to bring it down. The battle went several minutes overtime, and ended in a spectacular victory for Spain. The other two minor regions were captured too, and they offered a launchpad for Spain to continue towards Paris, the English Canal and the German border. Spain took this chance eagerly and now there are three new battles raging, Poitou Charentes, Limousin and Auvergne. If won, France will lose one High Grain region, and Spain will be one step closer to the legendary eCity which was narrowly saved from invasion over year ago during Operation French Toast.
At 03:42 eRep time all battles can still be won by both sides, as all regions possess very small walls and the biggest marginal is at Poitou Charentes, where wall is only 20,000 in favor of the Spaniards.
Eden approves
There are some good articles dedicated to this matter alone, so I wont comment it much. Eden in general seems to approve the invasion, as it is okay for member nations to perform independent military actions. Spain is strong enough to win France and their MPP

Dinner in Paris gets cold?
Spain is extremely strong country with highly efficient military. They won France and their 7 allies, and now MPP with Iran has expired, making the invasion even easier. But now the campaign is in danger to come to a halt, as Russia has proposed a MPP with France and it has been greeted with great relief. It'll pass about 13:00 eRep time, so Spain has to launch any attack they want to before this deadline unless they want to challenge Russia. But if they do, and it might well happen, things will get really interesting.
The another High Wood region of France is Spain’s to grab. Rhone-Alps is the second fortress of France and capturing it Spain will cripple France even more by conquering the homes of 1,100 Frenchmen.
As said, Spain is a strong country, and there are good possibilities that attack will be continued even with Russia involved. Russia can be easily distracted by starting RW

Presumed attacks from ex-PEACE bloc haven’t occurred, despite the training in Sabah, as they are still recovering from te massive spending of Gold in the last attempt to conquer Croatian regions, and because France ain’t so popular in the eyes of the superpowers. During the last days of PEACE, France’s actions caused them to become very unpopular in the eyes of Indonesia, Hungary, Serbia and another ex-PEACE nations. They stole the funding of PEACEkeepers, and fighting against Indonesia in Malaysia certainly didn’t help.

Nice article. I wouldn't say Spain attacking France is a TOTAL surprise, given their history and France's current vulnerability. The move does seem to say that Spain puts itself over EDEN in terms of importance, since EDEN would be (somewhat) strengthened by getting France to join.

France took over Asturias and invaded Spain when PEACE was simultaneously assaulting eUSA and Canada... I'd say that this is a retaliatory move, and in no way detracts from EDEN's defensive nature.
Being a part of EDEN doesn't mean we're going to sit there, let others attack us all they want, and never retaliate. For someone to think that is naive.
I won't begrudge Spain wanting to get their payback in. Having Spain as a happy ally is far more important than kowtowing to France.

Of course. It was only a matter of time. SO IT BEGINS.
Let me try to explain here why many of us wanted revenge. When we were invaded and conquered I can't say we didn't deserve it. We had attacked France many times, and some people from my country tried to TO France a couple of times (although most spaniards were against that).
However, the french didn't just want to occupy our country, which was their right. They tried to make eSpain an extremely weak country so our players would quit. They wanted to lose their last battle so eSpain would have been just one region, with many MPPs against her and with no chances of conquer back our regions. Luckily our government, in a very good strategy move, fought against ourselves, so that France conquered the whole country, deactivating the MPPs. Thanks to that, and with a lot of help from our allies, we conquered back our country.
That is why we want revenge. They didn't wanna just fight and conquer. That would have been ok. After all, this is just a game. They wanted to give us no chance of survive. They deserve our attacks.
However, in the long run I don't want to keep french regions for long, and maybe, once we settle our differences, we can try to forget.

@Ginman: please inform yourself before you talk. Not only our government didn't support the TO attemps. Most of our parties were against it. Lots of articles were written in our media against it.
Back then France had little population, and we had really supported those stupid TO attemps we would have succeded. Read again my post: You had the right to invade us after all we had done, but you wanted to keep our country without any possible chance to survive.

Yep, I guess it's a bit of a vicious cycle, isn't it? Of all the ex-PEACE countries to attack, I am not sure this was the one. So many seem so much more deserving of being eviscerated, like eUK, or eSerbia or even eIndonesia.
Understand, eFrance was an integral part of the PEACE war fighting machine during the last WW, but to attack them now seems to be a case of living in the past.
