Many of the CAF Soldiers must have realized some changes that were operated on the CAF Sections of the Forum. Let me explain what is happening.
One of President Jacobi's objectives this term was a partial restructuring of the army, mainly by modifying the Reserves and re-instating training platoons.
After some negotiations between me, marcchelala (20th Omegas Reserves Platoon Leader), and Prime Minister Jacobi as well as his Deputy Prime Minister William Duncan, I was able to draw a plan for this CAF Restructuring, which I illustrated in the charts and graphs below.
This Restructuring plan was discussed for a week in the Officers Lounge, then a meeting was held, and the plan was officially approved by the Prime Minister, and I started working on it, along with General of CAF Coda.

In summary, the main objectives of this Restructuring plan are: reduce the workload on a single person, improve efficiency of the CAF, allow for a greater expansion of the CAF, improve communication, and on a further step improving the supply system.
This Restructuring will be applied progressively over several steps starting with the Reserves, Rangers then Regulars, and ending with the Elites.
As you can see, this plan involves adding new positions:
Lieutenant General (Section Leader)
Colonel (Division Leader)
Etc...
Right now, the Colonels' only duty is supplying and divisions are only for supply. We are making them organizational, therefore the Colonels' duties will increase, as they will become a sort of helpers to the Personnel Manager. This meaning that the current 3 Colonels in the Regulars will become Full Time Colonels.
The Lieutenant General will be in charge of a Section of the CAF (Reserves, Regulars, Rangers, and later on Elites), and will be some sort of helper to the General of CAF.
I have been promoted as Lieutenant General for the Reserves. I will although keep on assuming the duties of Omegas Platoon Leader until we find a replacement.
New platoons are being created, so we will also need additional Lieutenants.
Please note that these charts illustrate a greater extension of the CAF that will not be reached before November/December. Until now, we will only have 1 Rangers division and 1 Reserves Division. Elites won't be separated from the Regulars until a further step, in a couple of months.
If you are interested in filling any of these vacant seats, please contact your Platoon Leader. Platoon Leaders are required to report to General of CAF Coda, Personnel Manager Connor MacLeod and to me (marcchelala)
Additional articles will be released to keep you updated.
Sincerely,
Lt. General Marcchelala

I like it. Full Steam Ahead I say.
good stuff, vote it up everyone
Voted.
Are there any specific requirements for the vacancies?
Who can speak against such exquisite organization charts?
Voted.
Voted. What are the requirements for the new possitions?
Good, just in time...
Is the CAF ready for eIran?
Thoughts on good names for the new units? 103rd Elites Platoon hardly has the same ring as 3rd Canadian Vanguard Platoon - or even 27th Northern Lights Platoon. 😉
glad your on board marcc. we thought you'd have some reservations about this. its a great plan and from the 27th platoon, myself and plugson both support it 😃
Fail.
I'm sorry but apart from the very nicely made charts, and OK command structure, the rest is FAIL. Good luck funding this PROPERLY. Good luck indeed...
Hopefully I'll be able to change all this if I become PM.
For now, lets focus on our defense and forget about what a FAIL this is. After all, even without our disfunctional CAF, we still liberated Canada, and we can do it again.
I'm not saying the CAF will be a total FAIL, I'm just saying that way better solutions are available. But w.e., its better than nothing I suppose... Cause thats all we can expect from this government anyway...
But lets not get distracted here, we have the Iranians to fight off, then our regions to liberate, then UK to attack.
LONG LIVE THE GREAT CANADIAN EMPIRE!*
*= Moral booster.
Voted General sir!
I am glad they are tying at least.
Mostly good. I'm confused about a few things:
* The units led by corporals would be called "squads".
* A Brigadier General outranks a Lieutenant General?
* Usually a company is 3-5 platoons and is commanded by a captain, a battalion is 3-5 companies commanded by a major or lieutenant colonel, a brigade is 3-10 battalions under a brigadier general, a division is 2-5 brigades under a lieutenant general. I'm really confused by the use of the term "division" in this hierarchy.
Bassett since when has the eCAF command structure made much sense? Strictly speaking a Major General - a rank not scene in this scheme - command Divisions while Lieutenant Generals command Corps.
My big problem is that this organization - not entirely unlike the real thing - seems more than a bit top heavy. To use a non-PC expression too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Don't get me wrong, there's a need for organization but I think this needs some tweaking or at least explanation.
Zzzzzzz ... FAIL!!!
It's not rank that matters in eRep, it's FIGHTING POWER, SOLDIER AVAILABILITY, and COMMUNICATIONS!
A better idea (to be developed) would be to set up a Tank Brigade to which eCanada's 'tank' (heavy-damage, repeat-assault) troops would be. Then there could be a Regular Army Group for us active non-tankers to belong to, and a Reserve Army of part-timers who could be asked to live in eCanada's strategic frontier territories (i.e., NL, NS, and possibly AK Alaska, where they'd contribute 100 points to the defensive walls even if the part-timers don't fight).
So, in summary: IRRELEVANT FAIL!
And Government ... WAKE UP! The NATION in DANGER!
MZ
Any actions to better involve the reserves is a good move at this point. I wonder if we'll need to add some other positions for supply officers who will manage the donations org. the government said it would fund for the Reserves and Rangers.
Seems like A well Thought out system to me, however, only battle will be able to prove weather this system will work or not.
I suspest a first test may be Provided by Iran, as they are geting more aggerssive by the hour.
Excellent stuff, But I think we should reduce the size of the elite, as we are only able to supply a certain number of elite.
We will have to determine exactly what is the role of Corporal as we might be lacking talented officier if it's too demanding.
And don't listen to what the haterz are saying march, it's not a FAIL, great work overall!
As I already said, this is a maximal extension, there probably won't be 2 Elites Divisions.
Secondly, the names don't really matter.
@ mightly Zonlar; as I said we are working on all these you said. The Tank Brigade is currently what is called "Elites"
The Non Tank Brigade is the Regulars
The Reserves are the Immobile
And the Rangers are the trainees, or cadets name them as you want. They will assure a better extension of the CAF, since Rangers will be promoted to either Reserves or Regulars, and on a further step to Elites. That's for fighting power
We are adding divisions and all this stuff to increase the number of platoon. That's the Soldier Availability
Chain of Command is being reviewed, and communication systems to pass orders. That's Communication.
I was wondering if you could post every officers duties in greater detail??
Cause right now it seems to be top heavy:
- What is the purpose of a unit? and will they have their own thread? or how will a corporal interact with them?? please expand on this
- In your flow chart it shows Lt. Generals/Colonels and division captains - who will be doing the supplying the division captain or colonel??
- And please expand on all officers duties and responsibilities for clarity 🙂
Thanks marcch!
Alright JT, in short:
The Colonels will be doing the supplying. The Lt. Generals will be like the General Managers of each CAF Section (Reserves, Rangers and Regulars)
The Unit's purpose is assuring a better communication in the platoon, and making sure everyone is active.
This would help orders being passed more effectively, corporals would personally check via in game PMs maybe the activity of their privates in addition to the LIeutenant's Roll Calls. It would reduce the Lieutenants' workload.
They might have their own Topic inside the Platoon section, but not more.
Well, while I agree that the names won't really affect things in the end, it's going to be confusing to people who are in RL military, or at least understand how ranks, etc. relate to one another. Most of it's already been mentioned - like how Lt. General > Brig. General. Obviously this is stuff that can be addressed when the final touches and makeup are put on the plan, and I understand that. I'm happy as long as they're not forgotten.
Excellent work. I am glad to see that changes are being made to improve the system. It makes good sense and can only benefit Canada.
Citizen B
That's great!
Been an eCanadian for 60 days today and I've made a few reasonable attempts as a casual but everyday player to figure out if I could get involved a bit more on the organized effort to liberate Canadian territory and our allies.
Thus far it just seems to me as it must to many others like me that the CAF etc. is inaccessible to players like me and is the domain of an inner circle of buddies and insiders.
Yea I've tried the forum that gets advertised, but there's no obvious instructions or explanation as to how it works and apparently there's many layers of access, all unexplained to a new user. The first time I visited it a few weaks ago I concluded it was a dead board as I couldn't see any recent posts given my limted access. I still have no access and no idea what they want you to do when they link you to it. An average Joe like me isn't going to bust his balls to try and figure it out, close the window and move on.
Sorry to bitch and moan, but it seems to me that this is presentation is all just a bunch of grand statements, graphs and fluff that will be impractical, will fail to be implemented and will leave large amounts of eCanadian manpower unharnessed, out of the loop and unconnected to any kind of organized war effort.
@hb741: Dude allow me to quote you in the future... Thats EXACTLY what I was trying to tell congress with my new CAF reform. The forum is complicated and annoying, and I really have to like you said, bust my balls, and try and figure out how it all works.
I totally agree with you.
Not all the changes listed above are being implemented- things are being changed as we implement/test and improve.
As for the forums they will be overhauled once 1ronman gets back.
