Interview with Shotan.

Day 5,028, 11:22 Published in Belgium Belgium by hallo10

Hello, my fellow citizens of e-Cyprus and, friends of e-Belgium.

My party the United Socialist Party has started a project where we will do an interview with all of the Socialist leaders of different e-Counties.

We decided to interview the leader of the Democratic Socialist Party Shotan thanks for your time hope you all enjoy it.

Q.1 When did you start playing eRepublik, and how did you hear about it?
I have started the game in 2011 during my [IRL] studies in Political Sciences. I hear it from a French website when the game was still famous, especially when the writers spoke about the situation of France. So, I decided to give it a try and, except for one year, I have never left the game.

Q.2 When did you start or join your party?
I join the party for a long time. I have already joined left or far-left parties but then I joined the DSP because I consider it as the closest party to defend my convictions. I remember the time when there were political struggles with rising stars that faded quickly after a defeat. I miss this time.

Q.3 What did people think when you started your party?
I didn’t start the party; I have become the president when players left the game. So, the remaining members managed the party until we agree I take the presidency, and since, we have built a trust relationship between all of us. For example, when there is an important question about a relationship with another party, I speak with my members, give my opinion then read theirs. Trust is the most important quality for a president. If one day, one of us wishes to become president of the party, we will support him.

Q.4 What can your party do to make e-Belgium better?
We do not like the binary vision between ATO and HOPE; we consider there are ideas that are wasted because of this political conflict. We agree to help with propositions, but we will never enter into a system of alliance nor join another party. We stay in a logic of coalition where we are glad to help the country without compromise our interests.

Q.5 What do you think that your party progress as a socialist party in Belgium
Socialism means the government must think about its citizens first without being closed to the world. We can reach agreements with other countries like TW or resource trading if it beneficiates for the country, not a small elitist minority. As a socialist, the citizen comes first.

Q.6 What do you think about the socialist struggle of our USP party in Cyprus?
I have no contact with Cyprian comrades so I cannot give an opinion about it. For me, struggles mean there is a gap between the lead of the party and some part of the base. The best is to understand the struggle then find a solution to avoid the collapse of the party.

Q.7 what can we socialist parties do for international solidarity
Socialists must protect their citizens. The best we can do is to reach agreements that we are sure will be beneficial for all of us, not only a part of us.

Regards Members of the USP.
