The Speaker's Word : Week in Review

Welcome to THE SPEAKER'S WORD : The Official Journal of the eUSA Congress.
Dateline:
Monday, May 11th, 2020 (Day 4556)
Location: 149th eUS Congress
Editor: Molly Emma, Speaker of the House

The last edition of The Speaker’s Word announced the inauguration of a new program to encourage the growth of our air power for both new and established players. Interest and participation in this program was phenomenal in the first week and all signs point to a similar result in this second week of its existence. Well done to all who have made the effort to become a part of this excellent program and are striving to improve their air round effectiveness in all of our theaters of operation. Keep it up!

Congress has been functioning at a high pace this month. It warms my heart to see so many thoughtful people coming together to manage the affairs of the Legislature.

The Office of the Speaker
The Speaker’s Chair was contested for the first time in several congresses this month. SColbert stepped up to the challenge against the incumbent Speaker. In the end, Molly Emma was voted in as Speaker. SColbert will be joining dmjohnston and Evry in the Speaker’s Office as deputy. We look forward to working together this month!

Budget Review
There has been a lot of input around the budget this month. A vote is currently being held on a budget proposal to increase funding to cover the costs of GIMP while cutting CRAP funding in half. The details(and, yes, the format… **looks at dmj** ) of the current proposal are contested and it is possible that the ongoing vote will not be the end of the budget discussion this month.

Budget Review
President Tyler Bubblar has proposed three new funding lines in the interest of establishing new Executive Initiatives to bring the Department of the Interior and the Department of Citizen Affairs back online after many dormant months. The initiatives range from a national raffle/giveaway drawing to a National CO-OP. Get more details and follow the conversation here: http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=48055.0
