Hello everyone o7

This article will the about The Love Holiday St. Valentine (in Macedonia we also celebrate St. Trifun on this day, it’s a wine drinking holiday so it’s a win-win for couples and single people)

In this article I`ll talk about love book, movie and songs. It will have one movie, one book and few songs, so don’t worry it won’t be long as the first article.

So subscribe, vote and please leave a comment for the mission.

So sit back and hopefully enjoy.

The order will be movie, book and songs.

Name of the movie: Love & Basketball

The movie is from 2000 so it’s a little bit older but not a problem.
By the name of the movie you can guess what it is about. Its about a guy and a girl who fall in love and play basketball. It has 27 nominations and won 12 time, pretty solid if you ask me.

The main roles are played by Sanaa Lathan(Monica Wright) and Omar Epps(Quincy McCall)

Awards that it was nominated and won: BET Awards, Black Reel Awards, Film Independent Spirit Awards, Golden Trailer Awards, Humanitas Prize, Image Awards, Key Art Awards, MTV Movie + TV Awards and Teen Choice Awards.

Nominations: Best Romance, Best Actor, Theatrical - Best Actor, Theatrical - Best Screenplay (Original or Adapted), Best Song("Dance Tonight"), Best Song("I'll Go"), Best First Feature, Best Female Lead, Outstanding Motion Picture, Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Youth Actor/Actress, Best Male Performance, Film - Choice Actor, Film - Choice Drama and Film - Choice Chemistry.

Won: Best Actress, Best Soundtrack, Best Film Poster, Theatrical - Best Actress, Theatrical - Best Director, Best Song(“Fool of Me”), Best Film, Best First Screenplay, Sundance Film Category, Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture and Best Drama Poster (Photographer).

Plot of the movie:

In 1981 in L.A., Monica moves in next door to Quincy. They're 11, and both want to play in the NBA, just like Quincy's dad. Their love-hate relationship lasts into high school, with Monica's edge and Quincy's top-dog attitude separating them, except when Quincy's parents argue and he climbs through Monica's window to sleep on the floor. As high school ends, they come together as a couple, but within a year, with both of them playing ball at USC, Quincy's relationship with his father takes an ugly turn, and it leads to a break up with Monica. Some years later, their pro careers at a crossroads, they meet again. It's time for a final game of one-on-one with high stakes

My opinion: Because I`m a big fan of basketball especially NBA I love this movie, so if you like romance movies and basketball I greatly recommend you to watch it even if you are not the romantic type.

The name of the book: A Walk to Remember

The book was first published in October 1999. It is written by Nicholas Sparks. There is also a movie about this book. But as a friend told me the first time I started reading books that have their own movies: Don’t judge a book from its movie, words to live by for every book lover.

About the writer: Nicolas Charles Sparks is born on December 31, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, he is romance novelist, screenwriter and producer. He has published nineteen novels and two non-fiction books. Several of his novels have become international bestsellers, and some have been adapted to film.

Plot of the book:

Every April, when the wind blows from the sea and mingles with the scent of lilacs, Landon Carter remembers his last year at Beaufort High. It was 1958, and Landon had already dated a girl or two. He even swore that he had once been in love. Certainly the last person in town he thought he'd fall for was Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town's Baptist minister.
A quiet girl who always carried a Bible with her schoolbooks, Jamie seemed content living in a world apart from the other teens. She took care of her widowed father, rescued hurt animals, and helped out at the local orphanage. No boy had ever asked her out. Landon would never have dreamed of it.
Then a twist of fate made Jamie his partner for the homecoming dance, and Landon Carter's life would never be the same. Being with Jamie would show him the depths of the human heart and lead him to a decision so stunning it would send him irrevocably on the road to manhood...

Front page of the book

My opinion: I know people put it in teen books section but I don’t care, its one of favorite romance books, although a have read a few. Solid plot and character and problems that a lot of people are facing.

And last but not least here are some love songs I like:

Endless Love – Diana Ross and Lionel Richie

We found love – Rihanna and Calvin Harris

Always and Forever – Luther Vandross

I just died in you arms tonight – Cutting Crew

And I`ll be celebrating St. Trifun holiday, so everyone is invited for drinking wine with me. Cheers.
