[UKPP] Intention

I would like to take a moment to announce my intention to run for UKPP Party President for the months of February to March.
It would be an understatement to say we have had some testing times of late and to compound the troubles we are now experiencing some internal turbulence. We must stay united, focused and active to the threats we face within as well as to combat the threats we face from without.
Times like this require stability. Stability to weather the torrent of criticism that gets whipped against us. Stability against the flood of those that join our Community to do us harm. Stability to stem the exodus from our Party of the bright sparks that have the potential to one day be the guiding lights of our Country.
It is my intention to provide that stability.

We have lost some great members recently and I will openly admit the Party is currently licking its wounds. This is plain to see in the dip of activity from our membership that was otherwise a bustling Community.
If I am elected there will be no fear of me leaving, or crumbling before the onslaught that is politics. I am fully prepared for what is to come.
I will answer to justified scrutiny of our party. I will withstand any question to my character. I will stand strong to any and all threats our Party may face.
It is my intention to be the beacon of strength our Party gathers around.
I am fully aware that my character has already been called into question, but I am confident people will see through such a clumsy attack.
I have been a (quiet) part of the eUK Community for many years. Although I may not shout loudly, whore myself out, or spam the News Feeds I believe I am known to be level-headed, fair and always willing to help those that are in need.
I am also not ashamed of being a Dentist and I will go so far as saying that that is a positive when sizing me up as a Candidate. The Dentists are some of the most active, intelligent and downright entertaining bunch of individuals found anywhere in the whole of eRepublik. We have led every major Party in the eUK and have led the eUK on the International scene to great success.
It is my intention to run unashamed of who I am.

I will make some commitments today, so that when you vote, you will vote knowing what my intent is.
1. I will put the New and Old logo to a Party vote so we all have equal say on the heraldry that identifies us.
2. I will reach out to the Party for their opinion on what our Party Description should be. This way we can collectively be proud of what we stand for.
3. I will only give Party Positions to those willing to take on such a role. There is no point having a title just for the sake of having a title.
4. I will cut out the debacle we have experienced in Congress these last few months by ordering the Congress list by merit. Those that wish to run are invited to apply to me directly with why they believe they are suitable. I understand this is quite controversial for the UKPP, but I firmly believe that given recent events and the unsavoury characters currently within our Party this is temporarily needed. Popular vote will return once I have established stability and strength to the party.
It is my intention to lead the UKPP.

I wouldn'y go as far as claiming CrispyDragon was PTO'ing UKPP - he was a UKPP Congressman in Aug, Oct and Dec last year.
I was PP for a month, ever since that month, neither me nor any other DCer has been PP. Yet you try to blame us for the decline?

I was in charge for recruitment for 3 months, just looking over my documents, jumped to 106 at one time, sadly many died in the months that came :/
Technically, you should still be PP, so the term 'last two months' does not apply to you 😛
Every party in the eWorld is barely treading water, not enough new people are joining compared to those that are dying off. Best you can do is hope that a couple stay.

I remember Wayne's term well, when that happened I started organising people for the next PP elections so we would change the name back and I contacted a player named BaronChris so we would support him for the elections...and in those messages I only included people from the RN and RAF, DC members (including Crispy) were left out from that, I didn't like them much during that time 😃 But in the months that came I learned that Crispy is a reasonable person and a good party member.
It was all me, Dental Corps had nothing to do with it. I decided to stir the place up a bit and give UKPP a kick up the arse. As can be seen from the Election results http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/party-elections/29/3205/1413356400 UKPP elected me to do just that and for a month or two activity came back to UKPP, even if it was just to oppose me.
Just because someone is a Dentist, it doesn't mean we are united in everything we do. We are not the Borg, we are all individuals. Any UKPP member can read back through Crispy's comments on articles and in the feed and see for themselves what he is all about. He's an intelligent, active player that is a shining example of a true UKPP player. Independent and fair in his opinions, yet always works and thinks for the greater good. Young UKPPers could take a leaf out of his book and learn a thing or two.

TBH Wayne, people didn't elect you for that, your article was more like "I am quizting eRepublik, but before that I want to have the honour of being UKPP's president"...and after that came OK I'll change the party name 😛 🙂

As you can see Dapper, eUK had 130 members during my term. 4 months later its hovering at 90. What logic are you using to equate a drop of 40 players over a 4 month period with someone who was PP back in October?
I found the data for my first month of work, after Wayne's term, precisely after the PP elections after his term we started with 111 people.
All in all this has nothing to do with Crispy...so vote CrispyDragon for PP 🙂

You cannot sometimes trust in democracy. That makes your position that of convenience instead of one that is a value. The UKPP brought internal democracy to the mainstream when members chose to elect their congress list. The autocracy of letting the PP choose makes this exactly the same as every other oligarchic party structure out there - why what is our unique identifier? What is our core value if not equal voices and equal participation?
Reconsider and return to our core value if you seek my support.
Ex-UKPP here, this "core value" is a very recent thing...
Have you looked at the fruits of allowing your party members to choose their candidates? Some of the most incompetent candidates that I've seen in my time on this game, and that's saying something. We've had worse Congress members, sure, but they knew exactly what they were doing.
Ex-UKPP here, the core values of UKPP has always been about respecting the game mechanics and using them to the best of our ability. PP has sole control of the Congress selection, he is the only one to have the buttons.
UKPP has always respected this fact and allows it's PP to choose as he pleases. Some have 'opened up selection to democracy', but that has been a very recent development in UKPP's long proud history.

A legitimate concern and I don't blame you for having it. In an ideal situation complete democracy would be the way forward. However, recently UKPP finds itself in anything, but an ideal situation. I may have final say on the Congressional list, but I will listen to every voice with equal consideration.
Also, let's be mindful not to blow things out of proportion. I would consider us fortunate if there are enough active members left to fully fill our children congressional listing.
I only ask for the party's trust. If you trust me I'll get your vote, and if you don't, I won't. Either way I respect your opinion.

That "core value" left us with an unelected PP after a certain new congressman abused his congressional power.
So in summary, no you do not trust party members to act in the interest of the party. Democracy only works for you and your chosen until it hands you the reigns. Good to know.
That's not what I said at all. Your summary is borderline fictitious at best and passive aggressive at worst.
Regardless, if you choose to stay if I get elected you will see my intentions were always for the best.
