[Fed] PP Address- Congressional Roster

Day 1,949, 09:04 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

So here's the sitch-

It takes at least 40 votes to get 1 Congressman into office. That's the average across all parties.

Last month, even with our wonky lineup that dropped all the 6ths and many of our own members, we had 486 votes, which means 12 seats. We have been averaging 12 seats for the last few months. However, of those 12 seats, we regularly give away 3 or 4 to 6th party candidates. All of the top parties run SOME 6th party candidates and the Feds are no different. Well..maybe a little different in that we give them priority over our own people most of the time. That's what this article is about.

So, the Feds are left with 8 or 9 Congressmen... to represent our 700 members. That's 1 Congressman for every 80 or so Feds (or, just based on the votes contributed - 1 Congressman for every 50-60 active, voting Feds).

Still with me?

"Well, FG...those 6th parties contribute votes to your party to help get their guys in."

Some of them do. The Albronians, for example, have always worked with us honestly and have always been supportive. They earn their seat. They aren't taking anything from anyone.

Some of them don't have 40 votes to give, though. They may have the bodies in their party, but not actual active voters. Some of them try to run candidates in multiple parties even though they can't actually support even 1 candidate. Historically, we have not only agreed to run candidates for other parties, but we have been putting them in spots they don't really NEED to contribute votes to win. If they're listed at #4, why would they send in votes? They will get in whether they vote or not. And we know for certain that not all of these 6ths parties have been pulling their weight.

Last month, one of the 6th parties we have regularly helped out ran other candidates in other parties, as well. Considering they only have 30 votes on a good day, how are they supporting these candidates? That gives them 1 Congressman for every 10 or so active party members. Or even if they only ran 1... that's 1 person representing 30 people. Compare that to the Feds- 1 Congressman for every 60 active members???

So let's get to the real point of all this- FAIR representation.

The change to the game mechanics made it so the number of seats a party gets is directly related to how many VOTES they get, as a party. Obviously that removes a big strategic aspect of this game that the political types really enjoyed. I was never a fan. The Feds always stepped up as blockers, so being underrepresented on the national level is really nothing new for us. HOWEVER, with this mechanics change, is there any reason why a little tiny 6th party should be so extremely overrepresented while the biggest and most active party is so desperately underrepresented?

I personally catch a lot of crap for not "caring enough" about 6th parties and not thinking their voices matter, but take a look at these numbers. We have been fighting so hard to give a voice to the minorities in this country that we have sacrificed our own. We have done a disservice to our own party and our members and this really has to be corrected. In Vanek's Cabinet, we have 2 people. In the current Congress, we have 9. Parties that we regularly have to rescue from dropping from the Top 5 are better represented than we are and are significantly more influential. Parties that are hundreds of members away from being in the Top 5 are better represented. You can call us 'elitists' if you'd like, but let's get serious for a minute. There should be more Feds in power. The Fed voice deserves to be heard.

So here is what's going to happen- This month, we are running a full roster. We can earn AT LEAST 12 seats through our own membership and our own activity. So our top 12 will be the Feds we want representing us. (SinaAria had to drop because of RL problems...good luck, buddy).

1) ElPatoDiablo
2) Molly Emma
3) Kody5
4) virtual vendetta
5) Jefferson Locke
6) Tiacha
7) Duncan Crowe
8 ) Darian Dracona
9) The Original Fawkie
10) AlexJ1890
11) BigCDizzle
12) Cromstar

We will ALSO give 6th parties the opportunity to get into office, but they will have to earn those seats themselves. There is no player on this list that is unworthy of Congress. There is no player on this list that is less important than your candidate. Period. There is no way to justify running a relatively unknown 6ther at the expense of anyone on this list.

The candidates who run at 13-15 or whatever SHOULD get in if they contribute all of their active votes. There's no good reason why they wouldn't unless they just don't have the voters. As 6th parties have discussed Congress with me and our political team this month, we have made them all aware of everything you've read here. Some of them will be seeking opportunities elsewhere. Best of luck to them. We cannot give free rides right now.

This next Congressional term is going to be hugely important for the eUS as we make some big decisions. Please vote Fed in the next election. These are all smart, active players and I absolutely trust this roster to bring a balanced, informed view to the issues at hand and represent this party and this nation fairly and with integrity.
