The dangers of a precedent (equal treatment for all)

Day 1,652, 15:22 Published in Bulgaria Bulgaria by eDarkAngel

A few weeks ago, the admins set a precedent, up until then they had never reimbursed anyone for the problems that appear with the game, due to their own servers, programing, bugs, exploits, hacks, bots or what not.

The situation was that with the wall in Bulgaria's favor in the last battle for Sofia, the server crashed and the battle was won by Bulgaria.

It turned out the servers could not handle the amount of damage sent.

Today in a mirror battle, the same was happening, not once but twice in the last two rounds.

First in round 13 with Bulgaria leading the server crashed again, Bulgarian side could not hit and Turkey turned the round and won.

Then in the 14th round at 1:50 there was a huge surge in damage for Turkey side, which turned the wall, Bulgarian side could not hit again last 2 minutes and the battle ended. Server crashed again.

I spent today watching this battle and now know a few things about the battle module of the admins.

Many of you have noticed that at times you'll deal damage but it does not get added right away to your score, it takes some time for it to appear, but eventually it does. The reason for that is that part of the damage is getting cached (most likely when the server is being overloaded with requests) and gets added when the requests have gone down. This leads to the accumulation of damage, which then when it is added turns the wall dramatically.

In essence this would be a good solution to the "peak damage" problem, however it is causing for highly contested battles to be decided by the software and not by the players. The reason for that is the inability of the admins to stop the usage of scripts to aid in the fighting, so when a large amount of players hit at the same time, using scripts, they create a cached damage, which gets added a little later to the wall. This in essence means that if you overload the requests to the server in the last few minutes of a battle the victory is guaranteed. Then the damage that got stored in the last couple of minutes is added but after the battle is over. This is what likely caused the crash after the end of the battle, as for the computer that is a paradox, as the winning side cannot have less damage then the loosing side in any given round at the end of it.

But even disregarding that, which of course is a theory, based on what I observed in the battles, the already set forth precedent with last battle for Sofia remains and the admins have to reimburse the boosters and candy bars of all who hit on Bulgaria side in 13th and 14th round and the result should stand as is.

So everyone should write a ticket to the admins a ticket, demanding equal treatment:

Hello,

As of the precedent set by you in a previous case of irregularities at the end of rounds/battles, I would like to have my candy bars and gold spent for a booster reimbursed for the 13th and 14th round of the Sofia battle (Battle I😨 28095). Thank you for promptly addressing this issue.

Regards,

First round of the same battle was won much the same way with a large swing of the wall at the last two minutes. However the server did not crash then.

I was logging all the participants in the battle, unfortunately, while I slept the battery of my laptop died and so I lost the precise numbers for the whole battle. I do have the numbers for the last 3 rounds however.

Turkey side had over the last 3 rounds 7230 fighters
Bulgaria side had over the last 3 rounds 8637 fighters

When I went to bed the numbers for the first 9 rounds were roughly 10 K for Turkey side and 17K for Bulgaria side. My estimation is that around 15-17K fought on Turkey side and around 22-25K on Bulgaria side.

In any case the difference in number of participants is staggering which raises many other questions, one of which is how did players with "ambassador" badges made more damage in this one battle then in years of playing the game in the past 4 years.

More precisely the following two accounts:

aurelije the family guy
fanasimpson
Second one obviously with a new owner.

I believe it is time for the rules about account selling, script usage and multies start to be enforced to everyone. The treatment should be the same for all and we expect no less in this case.

PP For all my international fans, I'll have another analysis to the bots country by country after the presidential elections, Some very interesting things will become apparent.
